Tracking Percentage - High Rated Seller Status
Summary: The discussion revolves around the topic of tracking percentage and its impact on achieving a high rated seller status. Both arrowheadnag64 and inceptions are participating in the conversation, sharing insights and experiences related to maintaining or improving their seller metrics. The thread highlights the significance of consistently meeting certain performance criteria to reach or maintain high rated seller status.
I lost my High Rated Seller status because I no longer provide a tracking number on 95% of my sales. I am under 95% percent now, as I cannot provide a tracking number on items that are picked up locally. I offer local pick up, which many of my local buyers prefer. But again, a Seller cannot provide a tracking number if the item is not mailed. Considering this, I am no longer allowing local pick up and will likely lose some customers. I spoke with an eBay representative and they expressed that they were unaware of the problem and agreed that it is an illogical policy. They suggested that I mail an envelope to the customer in order to secure a tracking number and upload that tracking number. I find their suggestion to be absurd. Any thoughts?

When you sell an item for local pickup, the buyer is supposed to give you a 6-digit code that you either scan or enter manually to the transaction. That counts as tracking.
If the buyer did not choose local pickup at checkout or if you didn't include it as an option on your listing, you need to cancel the transaction (using problem with buyer's address as the reason code) and relist the item so the buyer can checkout correctly with local pickup option.
