Tracking number provided shows item has been delivered??
Summary: trochj experienced an issue where the tracking number for their eBay purchase indicated delivery to an incorrect address. eastlaneave suggested steps to address the issue, including contacting FedEx for details and reporting the seller for suspicious activity. trochj later updated that the seller admitted to an error with the tracking and issued a full refund. eastlaneave responded positively to this resolution.
The tracking number that was provided to me shows it was delivered two days ago!! I reached out to Fedex and they confirmed that, that tracking number was delivered and I was not the recipient. It was delivered to another address and they would not give me any further information. I cannot reach eBay, becasue the problem is my item is not suppose to arrive until Spt 25th!! So I am currently waiting until then, unless there is a way to call eBay or they contact me!! Please help!!

I'm sorry that happened.
1) If your name and address weren't on that label, ask Fedex if they will put this in writing; it's helpful, but not required. "The tracking number you were provided by the seller is not related to you nor the package you were expecting."
Also, ask for the weight of the package using that tracking number. Follow the rest of the steps

Then click 'View More Details' to see the package weight. Screenshot that.
2) Then, report the seller using this process

Important, select "Suspicious seller activity"
then "Other"
Explain that the seller is using fake tracking numbers
Include these phrases
Seller uploaded tracking not associated with my transaction
Tracking details were not accurate
Seller used a false tracking number
Don't write a novel, it's initially being read by a computer, that's why I want you to use those 3 specific phrases in the message.
3) Finally, contact Customer Service and inform them that the seller uploaded a "false tracking number" on your purchase. Share any documentation you gathered. Request a refund.

Send a private direct message to the page. Explain you have a fake or false tracking number situation.
Let me know how this goes, I've been burned a few times myself (including on Amazon), but I have been able to get a refund following this process.
There are additional steps to take if the above isn't effective, just come back and update me.

OP1 month agoWell, seller made contact with me and yes they somehow messed up the tracking and was told the package was on hold and prolly sent back to seller. Issued me a full refund!!
