Tracking and delivery issues
I have about 4 or 5 items I mailed last week. However, when the mailperson picked them up and scanned them, it says on tracking that they are delivered. That can't be true as it usually takes a few days for the item to get to the buyer. Also, the tracking states that it was delivered to my address (the seller). How do I handle this with my buyers. I don't want to have to refund all of them and then they receive their product. Please help!

Mentor1 week agoThose hand scanners can be set to perform an acceptance scan or a delivery scan; sometimes the wrong option is chosen by the person doing the scanning. That should not affect the actual delivery of the packages, and if the packages receive further scans along the way, the tracking should update properly at that point to reflect that the item is still in transit.

If you scheduled a pick up with USPS the route carriers can set their scanners for either Received or Delivered much the same way the counter clerks can do. If the carrier clerk scanned packages Delivered to other recipients and forgot to change the scanner setting when they scanned your packages then they were registered as delivered when they were picked up. You can call the Post Office with the tracking numbers and ask if they can change the tracking for outbound shipping instead of delivered. Not sure if they can do that or not but it would be worth asking them.
After talking to the Post Office you can message your customers and let them know what happened.
