Too Many Bidders Cancelling Bids
1/2 of my items that have received bids have had them cancelled. That’s not how auctions work. When I have an item receive a bid now, I don’t trust it until it sells and I receive payment.
Why does eBay allow this? They even accept “bidder entered the wrong amount†when it was literally the starting bid!

·2 years agoUnfortunately eBay seems to have done next to nothing (and I'm being generous with the "next to") to enforce the rule against lying to retract a bid for almost a decade now. They have removed the third reason ("Unable to contact seller") from the pick-a-lie menu and did away with retractions in certain categories (involving trading cards) where "bid shielding" was getting out of hand a couple of years ago, but as far as actually doing anything against serial retractors we have not heard anything from anyone complaining about suffering any consequences (and believe me, no matter how warranted a disciplinary action is there are always those who complain about it and come here to see how they can have it removed or get around it) since the mid-2010's.
