Ebay will not let me add a variation attribute whose name is the same as an item specific. No matter which way I do it, will give me this error: "To add this attribute, remove the value added for it in Item Specifics." I had the same problem as this person, but I was able to take it a step further before eBay blocked me by selecting a different category that doesn't have the item specific I'm trying to add as an attribute, allowing me to create the variation attribute but not allowing...
