Timelines for paying
eBay has added new buyer's feature for paying without updating their following online instruction:
"Timelines for paying
When you buy an item on eBay, whether you won an auction or used Buy It Now, you'll need to pay the seller within 4 days. The sooner the seller receives your payment, the sooner they'll send your item. When making a bid or a Best Offer, we may ask you to provide your payment method and shipping address in advance. If you win the auction, or the seller accepts your Best Offer, payment will be taken immediately to ensure a smooth transaction."
I noticed in December, that buyers now have the option of selecting an autopay period of up to at least 7 days past winning an auction bid. Order note says:
This means I now have to be available to physically ship the sold item past the 4-day payment deadline noted in the online instruction. Now I have to schedule my auction listings to end even earlier before I plan on being away from home.
I talked to eBay representative by phone and there is no resolution at this time other than to contact the winning bid buyer and ask that they pay earlier or to let them know a later date that you can physically ship the item. I think the seller should have a choice of requiring the 4-day pay timeline or allowing the extended autopay period.

The buyer only has the option to shop more with a seller if the seller requires a buyer to enter a payment method before making a bid on their auction and offers combined shipping.
If you do not want buyers to have the extended auto payment date you need to turn off one of those options, either require payment method or combined shipping.
