thriftbooks sold me a book that they said was in "good" condition - it's not in good condition
Dust jacket stained, dirty and torn. Hardcover nasty and stained. Pages very yellowed and brownish and someone has taken a pen to it throughout. Unusual smell and sinus irritant when opened.

Mentor8 months agoGo to your purchase history and click on item is not as described. You provide pictures of the damage. The seller has 3 days to refund or issue a return label to you. If not, you can ask eBay to step in on the 4th day and they will force a refund. Large booksellers usually ship their items from different warehouses and it usually isn't shipped by the same person who 'graded' it. There is a reason why their prices are so cheap. I always shop smaller sellers when I want a book because I want to see actual pictures of what I am buying, not stock photos based on the ISBN#.

Use the reason, "Not as described" or whichever is similar to the problem you described.

If the seller does not respond, you can ask eBay to step in to help.
Do not close the return until you have a refund. You will have to return the item if the seller sends a label or you will not get a refund.
