Thoroughly confused by eBay rules on perfume
Summary: joliejacq expresses confusion about the rules regarding perfume sales on eBay, but does not provide specific details or any subsequent discussion, as there are no responses to clarify their concerns.
Yesterday I listed a vintage bottle of perfume in its original plastic case. It has never been opened or used. I received a violation and the listing was withdrawn. My review of the 'rules' suggest no perfume can be sold, but I see many vintage and contemporary bottles of perfume on eBay.
I've appealed, and eBay has refused to lift the violation.
I had the choice of listing as New or Used, and chose the latter as it is a vintage item, even if in its original unopened condition. Other listings also give condition as Used, and clearly have the old perfume in them.
What am I missing? Many thanks for any help.
