"This return is closed" - Impossible to return it now?

I thought I was being scammed because the seller didn't take action for a long time and then suddenly sent it really quickly after disclosing all kinds of unusual stuff. I opened the return request, but continued to talk to the seller who said everything was ok. I thought I must have over reacted and so closed the request thinking I could re-open it later once I actually examined the item. But I can't? It juts says "This return is closed." and I can't find a way to re-open it now. **bleep**. the item is worse than I imagined. and it has nothing to do with the strange things I was told last minute.

Is there anything I can do to re-request a return?

Yes. This is unfortunately seems correct.

Yeah. Just unfamiliar with the rules apparently. I don't recall seeing this important information when I opened or when I went to cancel the request. I canceled the request before the item had been delivered. Just assumed it was a more helpful, fair, and friendly system I guess.

When you filed the Returns Request, you had not yet received the item. You had nothing to return. The correct case to file is Item Not Received. You only get one chance to file a case per transaction.

Actually if a buyer files an INR, then the item comes in and the INR gets close. The buyer CAN open an INAD if they discover an issue with the product.

You just can't do it in reverse.

The full policy isn't given during the return process. You need to look it up to do what is best for you. Just like sellers, we are all responsible to know the rules. I am sincerely sorry this happened to you.

That is correct. You can't re-open a Return Request. I'm not sure what lead you to believe that you could do that. There is sadly nothing you can do about it. Ebay won't do anything about it either as it is against the rules to re-open it. Sorry. You are stuck.
