This is odd...
So I purchased a pair of sunglasses yesterday. I have my order number, item ID# and a confirmation email. The weird thing was, the eBay email said Welcome to your first purchase. What?? I've bought many things from eBay, so that was strange. When I clicked on the link for "View Order Details", it took me to a screen that said order not found and go to the help pages. I've entered the order number, nothing. There is no purchase history shown, yet the money sure is gone from my account. The seller has a good standing, so.... what's going on here?

Mentor2 years agoIf you did not purchase as a guest, is it possible you have more than one eBay account?
It is very easy to inadvertently create a new eBay account by signing in to eBay using a social media account that is not linked to an existing eBay account.

OP2 years agoNo other accounts.... I've had the same account, under the same email, for several years. I COULD have paid as a guest, but it still had my email address. It's just odd that when I put in the order number...nothing. At least the order number SHOULD work, right?

Mentor2 years agoIs it possible that you made the purchase as a guest?
Purchases made as a guest are separate from purchases made as a registered member. You will need to sign in with the email address you used as a guest along with the PASSCODE that ebay sent to you in an email. Then you can file a Returns Request.

OP2 years agoI probably DID make the purchase as a guest, but I'm not positive. Even so, there was no "passcode" sent with the confirmation email. There was a QR code, and when I tried that, it opened the app under my account, which does not show the purchase. Shows golf clubs I bought some months back, but not the new item. I don't want a returns request, and more than likely, the item I purchased will be sent to me. It's odd that the system does not recognize its own order number. Regardless of how I bought it, a guest, not a guest, etc, I STILL HAVE AN ORDER NUMBER, which seems to not exist. Frustrating...

Mentor2 years agoFor help with a guest order, you need to first sign out of your current eBay account, since the guest order is not linked to your account. Then while signed out, use the order details link in the email that eBay sent regarding the guest order.
