Think my account was hacked CS no help
I can't enter my password and it won't let me reset my password. It keeps telling me to contact CS because two step verification was set up, but I never set it up. I called CS twice yesterday with no resolution and today I was hung up on. I had to make a new account just to post here. I have money in my old account and buyers waiting on items. What do I do?

OP2 years agoI tried them yesterday and basically got a "wait and see if you can log in in 72 hours." Don't misunderstand, I appreciate your help, but as I said, CS has been no help.

Mentor2 years ago@justsomethingtoeat. Did you actually talk to the trust and safety department or just general cs?

Here's my advice to help secure your account:
#1 Run a full scan with your virus software to remove any spyware from your computer.
#2 Go to my eBay> account>personal information and make sure that all information is correct including your cell phone number, registered email and ship from and to addresses.

#3 Change your passwords and secret questions. My eBay> account> sign in and security

#4 Secure your email account.
Change the passwords and secret questions. Be sure to use different passwords and secret questions on eBay and your email. Do not use these passwords on any other account.
Hacked accounts often start with a hacked email account.
#5 Calling is the only way to report hacked accounts for security reasons.

IF you are outside the US or Canada you will need to use Skype to call.

#6 For extra protection consider turning on two-step verification. 3rd option on this page>

#7 Unlink all Social Sign in methods and change your passwords on those accounts too. The hacker will be able to use the social sign in links to sign in to your account again if you do not disconnect this option.

OP2 years agoThe problem is I can't get into that account at all. Everything I have tried on my own or with CS doesn't work. It won't let me log in to change my password, it just goes back to "contact customer service." Is there personal who can override and help me log into my account? I've heard so many conflicting things from CS. I've had that account for 23 years.
