Think I might’ve gotten scammed, red flags popped up after purchasing
I ended up purchasing a high ticket collectors item from what I thought was a reputable seller with 99% feedback rating based on 306 reviews. Had lots of items for sale on his page including several stock of the expensive item I bought, he told it would be shipped out within 15-30 days. But 5 days after I bought it, he removed ALL of his listings and there’s nothing on his page anymore, nor has he responded to the several messages I have sent asking about this, and it’s been a few days. Should I be worried? I tried to cancel but it says I can’t and that the estimated delivery date isn’t for another two months so I can’t file a report yet. What should I do since I put this on my credit card and I will prob have to pay some interest, should I just be more patient, can eBay so something sooner or should I contact my credit card company and dispute with them? Still new to eBay so I’m learning lol but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

Mentor2 years agoTypically you have to wait until the last estimated delivery date has passed to start an Item Not Received claim on eBay; if the seller is removed and eBay does not send you a message about that, and if you can no longer find the item in your Purchase History or the Help page, you can start a similar process through your PayPal account (if you used PayPal) or through your credit card or other payment source. There are various deadlines that have to be met at each stage, and you must take care not to make more than one claim about a single transaction through eBay or PayPal or your funding source at a time or your claim may be dismissed. Once you open a credit card claim, eBay can no longer help you.
If the seller actually ships something to you (but not your item) and can provide a tracking number that shows delivery, you must file a Not As Described claim (and typically return the item), as a valid tracking number that shows delivery would cause you to lose an Item Not Received claim. There are other scams that involve shipping an item to another location in your zip code which can complicate matters further. Follow up here if that happens.
If possible bookmark the seller's feedback page so that you can monitor that to see if the seller's account has been removed from eBay.

OP2 years agoSounds good! I called eBay suppprt and they said they would look into it for me, the agent said to wait 30 days until the end of November and if there is nothing shipped then to call back and they would handle it. Fingers crossed
