I just sold a prosthetic Leg for a 1000 dollars. The knee joint on the leg sells for 4 grand alone new, and anywhere from 12-2500 used, and that's just the knee joint, he also got the holster that the leg goes in, and the foot and ankle joint for free. Anytime I sell an item for 500 and up, I make sure everything is correct. I took the item to a prosthetics dealer and repair to have it checked out, they said it was great. The buyer received it a few days ago, and just today requested a refund for defective item. There's a cover that goes over the knee joint for protection that was beat up, but it has no affect st all on functionality. His return said defective item, cracked. I said it's not defective but the plastic cover is cracked up, which no buyer would ever care about getting the deal they did. All toll with everything, you're talking about a 7-8000 dollar item for a grand. After explaining, but of course he already knew, it was just a 30 dollar plastic cover, he now said the hydrolics were blown, which they most definitely were not, and why didn't you just say that instead defective because of plastic cover? He exchanged his defective knee joint for my perfectly working one, and now is doing this to get the item for free. It's happened to me before and of course ebay only helps the buyers. What can I do? Just let people keep exchanging defective items for good items with ebays backing and me going broke? Anyone with any ideas please feel free.
