There is fake delivery scam out tyhere
Honda HRX217HYA Lawn Mower with Hydrostatic Self Propel & Blade Stop System
Order number
This is a complete scam. After I placed my order and made payment, the seller provided a fake USPS tracking number and marked the item as delivered. However, the tracking number was fraudulent—the package was actually delivered to a different address entirely.
This appears to be a widespread scam affecting multiple eBay customers. When I contacted my local post office, they confirmed this type of fraud is becoming increasingly common.
I'm disappointed that eBay isn't taking stronger action to protect buyers from these fraudulent sellers. Due to this experience, I will no longer be making purchases on eBay.

I'm sorry that happened.
1) First, call the post office to see if the tracking number label contained your name and your address.
If your name and address weren't on that label, ask the Post Office if they will put this in writing. Also, ask for the weight of the package using that tracking number. Follow the rest of the steps starting with 2 below:
2) Then, report the seller using this process
https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022
Important, select "The seller has violated one of eBay’s policies"
then "Other"
Explain that the seller is using fake USPS tracking numbers
Include these phrases
Don't write a novel, it's initially being read by a computer, that's why I want you to use those 3 specific phrases in the message.
3) Finally, contact Customer Service and inform them that the seller uploaded a "false tracking number" on your purchase. Request a refund.
Use the Customer Service that is on social media this way:
Just sent a private message to the page. Explain you have a fake or false tracking number situation.
Let me know how this goes, I've been burned a few times myself (including on Amazon), but I have been able to get a refund following this process.
There are additional steps to take if the above isn't effective, just come back and update me.

OP9 months agoThanks, much appreciated the guidance. I did that this morning, and post office provided a hand written confirmation. My best bet is working with the credit card I used to make the payment. I can get an actual person in few minutes. Now I have the proof, pretty sure they will refund quickly. They have opened a case already and refunding while investigate.
FYI: I also submitted the alert as a product review, guess what the fake seller removed the item so fast.. But sure will repost in another name.
NEVER buying anything from eBay and eBay customer support system sucks.
Thanks

Once you file a credit card charge back, eBay can't help you.
Please, nonetheless report the seller as follows

If your cc has a case, there is no point in talking with a person at eBay. They cannot help once the CC case is opened.
Otherwise, following the above steps would get you a refund.
