There is a dramatic difference between the terms "Nickelodeon" and "nickelodeon"
Dear people,
Back in the dark ages, (1905 through perhaps 1930), when a person went out of their home and went to a restaurant or "bar", to purchase food or buy an alcoholic drink, you went into a building where individuals were waited upon and supplied with whatever food or drink they desired. In the years before this period, while you were waiting for your order to be delivered to you, you often times heard an individual who played a piano and perhaps sang along with the playing. This procedure changed dramatically (for the better), because in the early 1900s, the player piano was invented, and shortly after that, a self playing piano was introduced. This instrument looked very much like the regular upright piano in size, BUT, in many cases where the sheet music was normally placed, there were colored pieces of glass that formed some kind of design that was pleasing to the eye. It was more novel than that! There was a coin slot, into which you could place a nickel, and when someone placed a five-cent piece into that slot, an entire song came out of the piano. It played a recognizable tune with expression, and in many cases, sounded much, much better than someone who sat down to regularly play the piano by hand. After the song was over and the machine was silent, if you put in another nickel, the piano would play an entirely new song! And just as good as the first song! This instrument was called a "nickelodeon". These nickelodeons were placed into bars and restaurants in every city across the US and in many spots throughout the world. After the start of the Depression, people were a bit more conscious about spending their money. The nickelodeon did lose favor, but the instruments are still around, making great music. This is a stark contrast to the current day "Nickelodeon" company who is selling kids toys who are ultimately mishandled and broken by kids. Let's tell E-Bay not to mix the two forms of entertainment together.

OP11 months agoIf E-Bay would separate these two entities in their advertising of products for sale, then those who actually wish to purchase a musical instrument "nickelodeon" WOULD NOT have to be bothered looking at plastic
children's toys from the past ten, twenty years, named "Nickelodeon". It's up to E-Bay to decide if they wish to
spend the time to sort out the chaff from the wheat, two keep two sets of potential buyers happy with the purchaser's shopping experience!
