Theft and illegal activities
Ebay is allowing illegal activities. Apparently people are now allowed to post items for sale that aren't actually for sale. And so the "seller" can steal your money instantly but there is no way to get it back that fast. In this country that is theft. Something that is ILLEGAL If you do not receive an item that you paid for. And there is NO WAY TO GET HOLD OF A LIVE EBAY PERSON. OHHHH cool this person just spent hundreds of dollars but it's ok that people who don't work can take their money and we won't answer phones to get their money back. Illegal

Mentor2 years agoeBay has policies about how items are to be sold, but that does not mean that there aren't some people that try to get away with selling something and then not actually delivering it.
eBay has a money back guarantee, but it does not work instantly or effortlessly, nor does it entirely prevent clever scammers from making things difficult for unwary buyers.
You can request a call back in the US from a person at eBay through the Help & Contact page, but in most cases that is not necessary.
It is always better to avoid giving your money to a scammer in the first place, rather than trying to get your money back from a scammer later, no matter how good eBay's guarantee is.
In general, you can avoid a lot of headaches by choosing to purchase only from established sellers that have recent and past positive feedback as a seller for selling items in the same category that you intend to buy. If someone is selling a dozen apple watches, but has no feedback, or only has feedback as a buyer, or only has feedback for selling dress patterns or fishing lures (actual examples I have seen), perhaps wait until they have a track record of positive feedback for selling electronics before you buy from them.
You might miss out on a good deal from a new seller once in a while, and nothing can guarantee that you won't still run into an issue anyway, but you can avoid a lot of potential problems by choosing to do business with established sellers. Anyone can put together a listing that looks nice -- it is not hard at all to simply copy an existing listing -- but it is much harder to create a history of consistent sales and positive feedback.
For more experienced sellers, you can learn a lot about the sort of seller you are dealing with by checking the seller's feedback page to see where the seller is registered and to notice if the seller has any negative feedback. If you see negatives indicated in the table of recent feedback, you can choose to exclusively see each type of comment by clicking on the numbers shown in the table. Reading negative or neutral comments can often tell you if a seller has a pattern of problems with items not matching the descriptions, canceled orders, late deliveries or item location misrepresentation.
If a seller has a pattern of too many serious negatives -- or just not enough positive history -- it is often better to find another seller with a better track record to do business with.

Mentor2 years ago@sexxyfly eBay has no way of knowing what a member actually has in their possession that is why they have the Bay Money Back Guarantee.
You are protected by the eBay Money Back Guarantee if the item doesn't arrive by the last estimated delivery date. OR if it's not as described you have 30 days from the date of delivery to file a refund request.
Here's how to get your money back for a not received item>
Look for the last estimated delivery date in your purchase history. You can file a refund request when the item is at least a day late. You have 30 days from the last estimated delivery date to file a refund request on eBay.
Select your item on this page to start a refund request:
https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-refunds/get-help-item-hasnt-arrived?id=4042&st=
4 business days after you file the refund request ask eBay to step in and help if the seller has not refunded you.
https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-refunds/ask-ebay-to-step-in?id=4701
If it is more than 30 days past the last estimated delivery date then you can file a refund request on PayPal up to 180 days from the date of purchase. OR if you didn't use PayPal at checkout contact your bank or credit card to report that you didn't receive the item.
If they are trying to pull a scam they will be disappointed because your payment will not be released for 30 days since they are new. AND tracking needs to show delivery.
Another thing they won't like is that your payment will be held so that means eBay will force a refund from the sellers back up payment method OR if they don't have one they take it from the sellers checking account. The original payment is only released to the seller after your refund clears.
Sellers that do not ship items receive defects on their accounts. Just a few defects for ANY reason and they are banned.

OP2 years agoLiterally none of this is true 🤣 idk why you repeated the same lies ebay tries to say when someone steals from someone. They do nothing about it. And don't care that the so called seller has zero communication with you. Still illegal no matter how doctored up your words are if I don't receive my money back. And yes ebay actually could get off their butt's and hire someone to figure out said person has been posting something they don't actually have possession of because phone calls of several people saying the same thing about someone can do wonders and that person should be shut down, but nope. Ebay will just let this continue on

Mentor2 years ago@sexxyfly You can talk to customer service but what I said is not lies, sorry that you feel that way. There are steps however that you have to take as a buyer to file the claims within the stated time allowed.
Here's how to contact eBay customer service:
eBay agents are working from home so you have to request a call back or live chat.
1. CLICK THIS LINK:
