The new "Standard Shipping" is really bad. Has anyone else had issues?
Every item I have purchased with "Standard Shipping" has either not arrived, or arrived SUPER late, and there is no way to track the parcel.
Have others had this issue?
My recommendation is get rid of this shipping method! Personally, I'd rather pay significantly more and actually receive what I buy in a timely manner.

Mentor3 weeks ago@n3oma You can sometimes get tracking info on this site for eBay Standard Envelope> https://www.trackmyshipment.co/shipment-tracking
Since it is metered mail it doesn't always get tracking scans by the equipment.
If the item is late arriving you can file a not received refund request case.

OP3 weeks agoJust to clarify - the "Standard shipping" I am referring to is the one that shows up as an "ESUS.......8146" number, and says tracking is not available. I just started seeing this recently. It links to USPS FirstClassLetter
Tracking No: 003102..........053063 which than goes to: "Tracking Not Available
Tracking is not available for this item. This may be because the tracking number is invalid; USPS has not yet received payment; USPS has not yet received the item; the item does not include tracking; or other reasons."

Tracking that begins with ESUS.... means the seller shipped via USPS eBay Standard Envelope shipping. This service began in 2021 for use with only certain types of items. Tracking works differently from other classes of USPS service.
From eBay Help:
eBay standard envelope doesn't require an acceptance scan - the built-in tracking is all we need to confirm your shipment. If your buyer asks for tracking information, they can find it in their Purchase history.
If you prefer a different class of service from what the seller offers on the listing, contact the seller BEFORE you buy so he can add that service to the listing. You'll then be able to choose it at checkout.

Standard shipping is not a shipping method. It means the package will be shipped via a non-priority/expedited method by the carrier the seller chooses (usually ground shipping). The standard shipping option is not new. it's been around for at least the 22 years I've been selling on eBay.
When the seller purchases the shipping label, on eBay, the tracking # is automatically posted by eBay and you'll know which carrier the seller chose. If the seller buys the postage at the carrier sight, he has to remember to come back and key in the tracking # for it to appear in your Purchase History.
When you make the purchase, you'll see an estimated delivery window. That window is based on the transit time for ground shipping plus the seller's handling time.
Of course if the seller never ships, you won't receive your package no matter what shipping method or carrier the seller puts in his listing, in which case you need to open an Item Not Received case to get your money back. Be sure you are reviewing the seller's feedback before making a decision to buy - usually that will indicate whether or not the seller is reliable.

When Sellers put "standard shipping" as the only option in their listings, that basically means they can chose the least expensive option to ship your item. Before you purchase from any of the Sellers, you can contact them to ask if they are willing to ship using a different method, such as Ground Advantage.
As for late or nonexistent deliveries, your Purchases are covered for up to 30 days by the eBay Money Back Guarantee. Once your package is one day past the estimated delivery date, you can open an Item Not Received refund request on eBay. The Seller is required to respond.
