the buyer paid for the item but wants to pick it up
buyer fully paid for his item, but he now wants to pick it up rather than have it shipped....how do i show that its been picked up

You cannot mark it as picked up. You can only mark it as shipped.
You can cancel the purchase as problem with buyer’s address. Then relist it offering local pickup and have the buyer repurchase it. This way, the buyer gets a pickup code to give you that reports the item picked up.
