The box arrived empty
I sent something to a buyer and the small priority box was completely sealed with tape that said "repackaged" but the buyer said there was nothing in the box. What is the best way to handle this? Obviously the buyer shouldn't have to pay for something they didn't receive. Do they need to request the refund from me or can I just give it to them? I don't sell on ebay very often. Want to handle this the right way. Also, do you know if there a way for me to get my money back from the post office? Thanks!

·2 years agoIf the item is of little value and not worth pursuing, you can simply refund the entire purchase.
Alternatively, the buyer can open a "not as described" claim and you will have three days to send a refund. The buyer would upload a photo of the taped up box. and the label
If you want to pursue a claim with the post office, get a photo of the box with the tracking number label and open a claim for the insured amount of the item (most carriers automatically insure up to $100) . Sometimes boxes and soft packs get snagged up in the conveyors and are ripped apart. The contents could be anywhere.
