Taxpayer Identification Number Request
My husband received a Taxpayer Identification Number request and he does not sale or buy on Ebay, does any one know if this is a Scam.

Mentor4 months ago@2424vineyard How was he notified? Did he check to see where the email was sent from? The email address of the sender usually gives away scams.
I recommend putting a freeze on your credit reports right away just to be safe.
If he doesn't have an eBay account it is going to be hard to get much assistance from eBay. This may be a case of identity theft if it is not just a phishing message.

Mentor4 months ago@2424vineyard. That definitely sounds like identity theft.
His SS# was stolen somewhere, probably ended up on the dark web.
