It would be impossible to make a living on eBay if you have only one active listing (unless it's priced at tens of thousands of dollars and someone wants to buy it).
You recently sold a $4.00. You can't make a living on eBay selling items price that low unless you have extremely high volume. Let's pretend you wanted to make $50,000 a year in gross sales and netted $1.25 on each $4.00 sale. You'd have to sell 40,000 units per year.
eBay charges a fee of 13.6% in most categories on the buyer's payment (item price + shipping + sales tax) plus a per order fee of $0.30. You need to factor that cost into your selling price along with all your other costs of doing business.

Mentor4 months agoOn that $4.00 item you sold, you would have paid about $1.50 in fees.
Ebay selling fees in most categories are 13.6% based on total amount of sales which includes price of item + shipping charges + sales tax.
Example: $4.00 + $6.36 shipping (to my location) + $0.77 my sales tax = $11.13 total amount of sale
Your selling fee would have been $1.51 based on Ebay selling fee of 13.6%
You may need to think about pricing in order for your sales to be more profitable for you. Good luck!
