Why am I charged double the tax rate on a purchase?

Mentor1 week agoThat's kind of a vague question. Could you give a little bit more information?
Your very basic eBay information shows you are here in the USA.
Forty-five (45) of the 50 states charge sales taxes.
More than half of them charge sales tax on not only the Item you purchase but also on the shipping charge you pay.
It's possible that you live in one of those states.

OP6 days agoI purchased 3 0il filters from Jet Skis International 8/23/2026. Filters were 9.49 . Shopping of 4.99. Tax of 1.40. Total 15.88. Colorado State, County, and City tax is 7.5%. I think tax should be 1.08. Can not find a way to talk to a person on ebay to tell me what is going on.

The State of Colorado charges a delivery fee of $0.31 when taxable goods are shipped into the state of Colorado.
The buyer is required to pay it.
eBay is required to collect it and remit it to Denver, along with the sales taxes you paid.
