Does anybody know why I’m being charged so much more than have my taxes done then people that work for companies H&R Block charged me $560 to do my taxes and said it was because it was a self-employed form this is crazy I think that’s a lot of money for someone that only grossed $14,000 last year any help would be appreciated thanks

Mentor5 months agoTax preparation firms will charge by the number of forms they have to fill out along with the complexity of the forms. Anytime you have to file a Schedule C (Business income form) they will charge a higher fee for doing this. You may need to shop around for a tax preparer next year since I am sure that not all charge the same fees. You might want to see about using Turbo Tax Deluxe as this program will walk you through all entries on your tax return and provide specific information on each line item. The cost of the program is usually around $60 and includes free electronic filing of your Federal tax form.

OP5 months agoThank you because that was an outrageous amount of money considering what I made for the whole year and still had to pay state and federal on top of it sometimes I wonder if it’s even worth this but thanks for all your help
