TaXES 2023 1099-K AND a 2022 10-99K both made available today

Question

Ok quick question, anyone else get 2 1099-K forms? one for 2023 and one for 2022? Just curious why they both were generated same time. I did not receive one in 2022 but today I have one and one for 2023. Does this inidicate that 2 were filed with IRS this year? Thanks in advance

Hey @jealou_29 we wanted to share some info we got from our tax team on this subject. Here is what they said: " We are aware and are currently working on getting the erroneous forms removed We did not report this income to the IRS in previous years and will not be including this year Sellers can disregard the 2021 or 2022 forms generated on 1/26/24"

Yes, a few others have reported getting two years at the same time. This may be a belated Missouri state requirement or an eBay error. If it is an error, eBay does not actually send data to the IRS until the end of March, so has time to let you know if it was an error.

If you have not already reported your prior year earnings, and the 2022 report is new data, you may need to file an amended return for 2022.
