Why does ebay collect sales tax on silver? That is not the law.

Mentor10 months agoSince eBay charges sales tax based on the category the item is listed in sales tax can be charged in error if the seller has listed the item in the wrong category. eBay is just a big computer and does not know if the item is listed in the proper category or not. Your State will normally have a way to handle sales tax charged in error.
