I very rarely sell anything on eBay. Am I required to have a tax identification number? I live in the state of Oregon and we have no sales tax. Because I got a message when I sold an item it said that my tax identification number doesn't match the records and so my money is on hold. What do I do?

The tax identification number requirement is not related to sales tax.

If you intend to sell on Ebay, you will be required to provide your social security number or tax identification number.
