Taking over an Ebay shop
Hi,
My relative sadly passed recently and his next of kin wants me to carry on his Ebay store.
Is this allowed?
He was a sole trader.
(I've seen it'd not possible to change ownership generally but thought maybe in these circumstances it would be allowed?)
Many thanks in advance

If you do not have your relative's username and password and you are using a different computer/phone and email you may have to start from scratch because you cannot change the banking information without those things.
If you have to start a new account, start out listing lower cost items at first. Start by reading the article in the link below, and click on the links inside of it.

There is a lot of reading to be done, and if you have questions, I suggest posting them on the U.K. site's community. Under Discussions click on Selling on that community's landing page.

If your relative was selling off their collections, you could take over their account to finish doing that if the funds were going to the estate through the banking accounts already in place, and not just to you. However, unless you have experience selling on the site already, you could make a real mess of things. It takes some time to learn how to become a good reliable seller on this site.
You have already done one thing wrong, you asked your question on ebay's U.S. based site (ebay.com) but this account is registered as being in the U.K. and the correct address for it is ( ebay.co.uk ).

OP1 year agoThankyou.
No it's an ongoing business so they want me to take it over basically and they take a % of profit to his estate. Change the bank accounts etc.
Of course I can't through to anyone at Ebay.
Best
