Taking a medical leave

Question

I had back surgery 2 weeks ago and will not be able to bend, lift or twist for the next 3 months. I also cannot drive for 4-6 weeks. I currently have my account on vacation mode but Iâ€™m going to have to end all my listings until Iâ€™m physically able to return to selling. Will I get penalized for ending all the current items I have listed for sale?

As an alternative to ending your listings, you can keep extending your Time Away until you are ready to resume selling. That's what I did for most of last year due to medical issues. If you do this, you just have to remember to re-set up Time Away every 30 days. You can also set up an automatic reply to buyers who send you messages.

@delene317 I hope your recovery is speedy, or at least not longer than expected.

You will not be penalized for ending your listings. Your items will only still in the unsold section though for 90 days before ebay permanently deletes them. You could set a reminder to relist them and then end them again on the same day.
