Switched shipment addresses

Rats â€” please help quick! Iâ€™ve always been a little paranoid about this and Iâ€™ve never done this before but somehow now Iâ€™ve done it. Iâ€™ve mailed two packages to wrong buyers. One is a repeat buyer who loves me so thatâ€™s good.

I donâ€™t know how to email the buyers postage labels to resend each other their packages. Iâ€™m assuming thatâ€™s what I should doâ€¦Iâ€™ve also got a Pirateship account if thatâ€™s a better choice.

Iâ€™m not sure how I did this and Iâ€™ve had a bad eBay week on top of it. Please advise. Thanks!

First of all, you need to have the buyers ship the packages back to you. Then you ship to the correct buyers. (I know...added expense...but this mistake is costly.) You can't give out the personal information of one buyer to another buyer. That's a breach of privacy. You also have no control over what they might ship.

Since you are in transactions with these buyers, you can ask them for their email addresses so that you can send them their return shipping labels.

Alternatively, you can ask them to open returns for item not as described and eBay will furnish them with labels at your expense. Then you can ship the correct items to the buyers when they come back to you through eBay. If you do it this way, you'll need to call eBay to show them that the new tracking number for the replacement is attached to the original purchase and on the way. They will close the return.

This mistake is costly and time-consuming. I've been there and it's no fun... Hopefully next week will be a better one for you!
