Suspicious activity from ShopAirlines ordering something then claiming wrong item delivered
I am frustrated with a buyer that is apparently a freight forwarding service for buyers in Japan. I'm annoyed because the communication is only one-way, they send out what seem like automatic messages but do not respond to any of my messages. I sent out their order, provided tracking and heard nothing from them until the day of delivery. They immediately requested a return saying the wrong item was delivered and sent me photos of my shipping labeled clearly peeled off the box I sent and stuck over another label for a completely different package. I believe they are trying to scam me and pocketing the items I actually sent. I can't get through to anyone at the post office, the buyer's phone number doesn't work, and the business (when looked up at the shipping address) does not have any contact info. Their business on google maps has multiple negative reviews about this sort of thing from other ebay sellers. I called the business next door and they are told to not give out the phone number. It smells like a scam any way I look at it, but I don't know how to fight it and I am very frustrated. No new messages from this "buyer" since return/refund was requested. What do I do?

OP1 year agoI approved the return request and then was waiting for the shipper of the package that was received (not my package, the one that got my label stuck to it and was then mis-delivered to my buyer) to get back to me with a return label. Then EBay stepped in "on my behalf" and sent the buyer a return label. When I went to upload the return label the following day (less than 48 hours after the return request), I was unable to reach the upload screen because ebay had already sent a label (even though I had selected "accept return" before the 3 day window was up). So then I had to message the buyer the correct label (not ebay's) and now have not heard back from the buyer since then. I get that this situation is partially because of my tape and partially the fault of usps, but I sure was working very hard on solving it. Ebay didn't need to step in with that label. Now there is extra confusion and I might be out the extra cost of that return label AND the entire refund cost! Imagine trying to explain ALL this to an EBay customer service rep. I am beyond frustrated and exhausted with this whole situation. AND I still have to hope that USPS can find my original package which is now considered "dead mail" and is floating around their facilities somewhere with very little identifying info on it. yay...

OP1 year agoSo, I'm still working on solving this issue, but it does seem likely, at this time, that the fault lies with USPS (and myself). I no longer think that I am being scammed, but it took a lot of time, phone calls, and talking to people in person for me to reach that conclusion. I think, the mixture of types of tape I used on my package caused the label to start to unstick from the box, which then allowed the entire label, tape and all, to get stuck on a different package at a usps facility. This then left my shipment with no label and caused a different package to be delivered in its place. I'm still not 100% sure that that's what happened, but it has been a real headache trying to figure the whole thing out. Not that anyone is reading this, but maybe I'll post here again once the whole thing is resolved...
