Suspected fraud
I purchased the following product: [Removed by Moderator]
The seller has several positive ratings.
The price seemed too good to be true, so I proceeded with the purchase and paid via PayPal.
Minutes later, the seller removed all their listings.
I sent the seller a message, but they never responded.
Can anyone offer any advice?

I am sorry this happened. When it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
eBay's Money Back Guarantee should apply: https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/-/ebay-money-back-guarantee-policy?id=4210
Here is how to formally request a refund of your full payment:
1) Look at your purchase history here: https://www.ebay.com/mye/myebay/purchase
- View Order Details
- Check the Estimated Delivery Date for your purchase, and
- Check the tracking for your purchase
When it is past the estimated delivery date (and there is no tracking, or the tracking doesn’t show that is close to delivery):
2) Open an "Item Not Received Case". You can do that right here by clicking on the photo of your item and following the steps: https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/-/reporting-item-didnt-receive?id=4042
(If it is not yet time for a case to be opened, it will give you the exact date after you click the photo.)
You will be able to select whether you want the Item or a Refund
-- You have 30 days from the estimated delivery date to open a case)
3) You can check the status of your case here:
https://www.ebay.com/help/ip?topicId=4667
The seller must respond within 3 business days to provide a delivery update, offer a replacement, or give you a refund. If the seller doesn't respond after 72 hours, ask eBay to Step In.

OP5 months agoExcuse me, I have a question. The seller put a fake tracking number on the package. Days passed, and one day before the 25th, the deadline to file a claim, a real USPS tracking number appeared saying that both packages were delivered. I checked with USPS, and it says they were delivered to the address, but this is false. I wrote to the seller again and filed a claim that the product hadn't arrived. Now eBay says I have to wait until the 31st for eBay to take control of the claim if the seller doesn't respond. Can you tell me what to do? This is a complete scam. I would appreciate your guidance; this is the first time this has happened to me.

I'm sorry that happened. Read this carefully and start these steps. It's likely the Item Not Received case will close in the seller's favor... following these steps will get your money back.
1) First, call the post office to see if the tracking number label contained your name and your address. Not whether it was delivered, whether it had your name and address on it.
a) If your name and correct address were on the label, ask USPS to review the GPS on the delivery, retrieve the item from the wrong house, and deliver it to you.
b) If your name and address weren't on that label, ask the Post Office if they will put this in writing; it's helpful, but not required. (They won't tell you whose name *is* on the package, only that your name and address *is not*.) Also, ask for the weight of the package using that tracking number. Follow the rest of the steps starting with 2 below:
2) Then, report the seller using this process
https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022
Important, select "Suspicious seller activity"
then "Other"
Explain that the seller is using fake tracking numbers
Include these phrases
Don't write a novel, it's initially being read by a computer, that's why I want you to use those 3 specific phrases in the message.
3) Finally, contact Customer Service and inform them that the seller uploaded a "false tracking number" on your purchase. Share any documentation you gathered. Request a refund.
Use the Customer Service that is on Instagram this way:
Send a private direct message to the page. Explain you have a fake or false tracking number situation.
Let me know how this goes, I've been burned a few times myself (including on Amazon), but I have been able to get a refund following this process.
There are additional steps to take if the above isn't effective, just come back and update me.
