Suprise Additional Shipping Charges - Am I Liable for This?

I recently purchased a motherboard and GPU. This purchase included a fixed shipping charge. The seller contacted me and said that they wanted to ship in 2 boxes to make sure everything arrived safely. I told them it was OK with me if that's what they wanted to do. It wasn't clear to me why they were even asking since shipping the items safely to me was at this point their responsibility and I had already paid for exactly that service. The original shipping charge was $11.82. I then received an email saying I needed to pay an additional $19.53 because the order had been shipped in two boxes. This would mean a total of $31.55. Nearly triple the original amount I agreed to pay. I never agreed to pay additional shipping charges. The seller said they needed to put in 2 boxes so it would arrive undamaged. Am I supposed to tell them to ship in one box and them who's responsible if something is damaged. There was never any mention of an additional charge. I would never agree to an additional charge without know what the exact amount would be. So, just by agreeing that they could ship in two boxes for their convivence is it reasonable for them to charge me triple the shipping fee we both agreed to?

It has already been 2 weeks and it says I have to wait until the 26th of August. Is there some other way.
