Submitting an Appeal (for Sellers) does not work
Summary: damianscollection shared their frustration about a dispute on eBay where they sent a registered package to Thailand, but the buyer claimed it was not received. Although damianscollection provided evidence of delivery, eBay ruled in favor of the buyer. Attempts to appeal the decision were hindered by an unhelpful AI chatbot, and the inability to contact customer service on a Sunday. They expressed disappointment with the lack of seller protection and questioned the company's current practices.
I sent a registered package to Thailand a few months ago. The buyer opened an appeal claiming that he had not received the item. I replied saying that the item has been recorded as delivered. I also sent a screenshot from the CTT Macau Item Inquiry site proving that it had been delivered, and a photograph of the customs declaration noting that all details, such as address and postcode etc were accurate. eBay then sent me an email saying they would resolve the dispute in 48 hours. They resolved it in 3 minutes in favour of the buyer on the grounds that I had provided no proof of delivery, thereby stealing my money. So I clicked on submit an appeal, at which point the system gave me no opportunity to input information but simply transferred me to the wretched AI chatbot which is completely useless. I also cannot contact an agent because it is Sunday, and it is impossible to send an email. What has happened to this once great company. I would be really surprised if humans even looked into this before making an incorrect decision. So much for seller protection. What can be done?

Mentor1 month agoYou would have needed to have entered the tracking number into the case notes to prove delivery if the tracking shows delivery. eBay does not look at many things that you may submit to prevent faked paperwork.
