Subject: Blatant buyer scam? Shattered heavy plastic bottles but mailer is bone-dry. Need advice.
I am facing a highly suspicious damage/missing item claim from a buyer and would really appreciate some advice on how to handle this with eBay support.
The Situation: I sold 2 brand-new serums and shipped them in a white bubble mailer via USPS Ground Advantage. Today, the buyer messaged me claiming the package arrived badly damaged and the products were "crashed." They requested a full replacement/refund.
The Red Flags (Clear Staging/Fraud):
Bone-Dry Mailer & Box: The buyer sent photos showing the heavy-duty plastic serum bottles completely shattered into sharp shards. However, the white bubble mailer and the cardboard box fragments shown in the photos are 100% clean and bone-dry. There is absolutely no liquid residue, leakage, or stains. If two full bottles of liquid serum actually exploded during transit, the mailer would be completely soaked.
Missing Shards: The plastic shards in the photo represent only a tiny fraction of a single bottle. The rest of the packaging and the actual liquid contents are completely missing.
