Strange phone call regarding a sold item
Sold a handmade afghan on 5/20 and as usual when ebay said it was paid for and I should ship it, I did. According to ebay it was delivered 5/57. Yesterday, 5/29 I had a voicemail from the buyer saying she had an unauthorized charge to her CC which she notified ebay about and they reversed the charges. Then said she received the afghan and thanked me for sending it. She also said something about she was glad I got my money. I checked my account and see the payment to me was made on 5/22 but I do not see any reversal. It all looks normal so I am not sure if I should call her back to ask her to explain further, try to contact ebay or should I just consider it a closed matter and move on? I assume if this was reversed, ebay would have notified me by now. The buyer looks to be new to ebay with only 2 feedback - one of them is mine.

·1 year agoIf the buyer disputed/reversed the charge with their bank, then yes, you should have received a notice of a dispute/chargeback via eBay. It would also show up here: https://www.ebay.com/sh/resolutions
There could be a short delay before the fact that has been filed is sent from the customer's card issuer to eBay to you, but I would expect you'd see it soon if it actually has been filed. Seller protections should cover this, I believe, if I'm understanding the situation correctly, but the notice you receive from eBay should specify. If you never receive any notice from eBay of a dispute, you can safely ignore the customer's voicemail.

Mentor1 year agoI would contact your bank to see if there was a reversal and not contact the buyer.
