Stop outsourcing everything to ai please
I took a gamble and purchased a preorder item around a year ago. I haven't received it. And I can't contact the seller. I have to make a purchase just to be able to contact an agent because ebay switched to an AI bot for customer support because their overlords would rather do that than to pay humans and made it a policy to not allow contact to an agent if you don't have any purchases in the last 90 days. And now I have basically been scammed out of $200 if I can't get something to happen. Thanks a lot

Mentor4 months agoPreorder items need to be shipped within 40 days of sale to be compliant with ebay policy. It is most like too late to file a charge back with your credit card issuer if that is how you paid.

I'm not a gambler, but I have friends who enjoy the activity. Sometimes they grouse when they don't win. Sorry you didn't manage to make contact with customer service, but, even if you had, there's nothing they can do after a year. Do you have a question?

eBay's US presale policy is here:

Sellers of presale items are required to provide the exact date the item becomes available in the listing and are also required to ship within 40 business days of the sale. But buyers must know about the policy in order to use the Money Back Guarantee in the time allowed.
On eBay, buyers have up to thirty days from the last estimated delivery date shown at the time of purchase to file a case. After that, eBay can no longer help.

PayPal and many credit cards provide some protection for up to 180 days from the time of purchase. Check with your card issuer to see if you have any options remaining. Once your credit card protection expires your options are limited.
