Stop Counterfeit Products on eBay
Summary: raroach shared their experience of purchasing Dermend bruise cream on eBay, which they suspect to be counterfeit due to discrepancies such as misspelled words and incorrect manufacturer information. Despite receiving a refund, they continue to find questionable details on the product's packaging and note the existence of multiple sellers offering similar suspicious items. They urge eBay to scrutinize these listings to prevent counterfeit products from being sold.
I recently purchased some Dermend bruise cream from eBay and I believed it to be counterfeit so I filed a complaint about that. But eBay said that a customer service representative determined that it was OK. I received a refund, but I still feel this was counterfeit product, so I looked at it more carefully, and I found that the label had misspelled the word pharmaceutical (“phamaceutical”) as in the name of the company supposedly making this for the original manufacturer. I definitely feel all the Dermend bruise cream product being sold on eBay are fake, that is everything that is being sold in a box. All other retail product I have received from authorized retailers did not have a box.The sellers of my product have closed their account and gone away, but several other sellers are still selling this same product. On the box, it says it was produced by Oak pharmaceuticals on my tube, it says it was produced by Cork Pharmaceuticals in Fort Worth, Texas. Cork Pharmaceuticals does not have an office in Texas. I just purchased another tube of Derman from one of their approved retailers and it has a completely different looking field to the packaging. I feel eBay should look into this more carefully and not allow counterfeit products to be sold. On the photos of the box on the current listing, it shows the manufacturer as Oak pharmaceuticals instead of Cork pharmaceuticals as I find on the tube. It is offered at a lower price. All very suspicious.
