stolen items on Ebay
I dont want to give out too many details as an ebayer is involved. But items stolen from me were being sold on Ebay and I have confirmed them as they match the pictures from my personal collection. There are other details I cant disclose. Police have been made aware. Seller has been reported to ebay. He closed his store down. What else can I do to recover my items. He stole items with a total estimated value worth over 10,000$ and crossed statelines. I am going to report him to the FBI if needed. Any advice ?

OP2 years agoCan the seller repost them again under a different ebay account ?

Mentor2 years agoYes it's possible unless ebay removed him or some new owner may at some time in the future. Do a search and enable the email alert.

OP2 years agoI have reported him to the FBI as he crossed statelines with my stolen items. Based on my research what he did is a federal offense.

Mentor2 years agoBoth will be able to get ebay to release the seller's address and contact the authorities there. If the item sold they should also be given the name and address of the person that bought the stolen goods.
I'd still watch ebay for them to show up again and also regularly check in with the authorities about your case. You also should check with you homeowner's insurance just in case there is some coverage for stolen items.

Mentor2 years agoYou did the right thing by filing a police report, as they have special access to ebay to address this. You can also ask about how to properly report this to federal authorities.
