Stolen Goods

Question

I happen to know that a high rated seller has a very expensive item for sale that is stolen. Should it be reported and would any action be taken?

The advice given earlier is how the person who was stolen from, should proceed. However, if the item was stolen quite awhile ago. The seller may not know that they bought and are listing a stolen item. Hopefully, it was a One Off item. If there was more than one of the item produced, proving it was the stolen item could be difficult to prove.

If the person whose item was stolen has received funds from an insurance claim. They will not get the item back, unless they repay the insurance Co.

If by chance the item is listed on another site, with the information that ebay will be used to protect the sale, that listing is itself a scam.

@dajoh320402 The person from whom it was stolen should contact the police department that took the theft report. The police have a specific way to contact eBay about it.
