Stolen contents from package.
1. The sale was made.
2. The item was packaged in a US mail priority box and properly sealed.
3. The E-bay label was purchased and properly placed on the box and mailed.
4. The package arrived at the proper destination.
5. At time if delivery it was noted the package had been torn open and the contents removed.
Now who is responsible and what needs to be done?

The Buyer should have REFUSED the package since it was damaged upon arrival. You have no clue if they opened it themselves or not.
If it was the $ 360 item you sold this month I would be suspect to be honest.

Mentor2 years ago@mr_lincoln They changed the money back guarantee to only cover refused deliveries for insufficient postage. Under exclusions, refused package, this is noted -
If a package arrives empty or was damaged in transit, the buyer should accept the delivery and report that the item doesn't match the listing.

Mentor2 years ago@wooden_flower My sincere thanks for that ... and the 64 million dollar question is how many Buyers AND Sellers know that? And how will the carrier handle their mishandling of the package? Interesting stance that eBay has taken on this issue ...

Mentor2 years agoThe seller refunds the buyer, then the seller files a claim at usps.com. The package is insured up to $100, more if you purchased additional coverage.
