Status of accepting a buyers counter offer.

Question

I accepted a counter offer of $24 from a buyer on an item that I had listed for $40. Checking on status can’t find any evidence that payment has been made yet by the buyer. Is this something that I need to talk to someone directly at eBay?

Wanna make sure that I did not make an error in responding with an offerto the buyers counter offer. Can anyone help with this question?

This is a special situation that happens when:

Seller sends an offer to watchers
Buyer counter-offers that amount
Seller accepts the buyer's counter-offer

In this situation, the item isn't marked sold and awaiting payment.

If the buyer comes back and pays in 96 hours, then it is sold.

Meanwhile your item is available to all buyers and anyone can buy it right now.

If you wish, you can message the buyer to let them know you accepted their offer (in case they missed the notification).

Unless you have immediate payment required in your seller preferences, the buyer has 4 days to pay for the item.

If the buyer does not pay, cancel the transaction after 4 days of non-payment have passed, specify "buyer didn't pay".

In Seller Hub, go to Orders.
Find the order you want to cancel, and from More actions, select Cancel order.
Select "buyer didn't pay" as the reason for the cancellation and then select Submit to finish.

All unpaid items are recorded on a buyer's account. Buyers who have excessive unpaid items, or canceled transactions, may have limits imposed, or lose their buying privileges.

Place the non-paying buyer on your Blocked Buyer List:
