-Get the item back from your nephew as quickly as possible
-If the item is Not as described (which it sounds like it is) you can file a return through eBay and get a pre-paid shipping label to send the item back to the Seller. The Seller will have 2 days to refund you, if they don't you go back to the claim and ask eBay to step in to force the refund
-No returns accepted does NOT work for either an Item not as described or an item that Arrived damaged. Yours would qualify for either or both of those.
-As far as the Negative Feedback you left, in the future try to work things out before leaving any Feedback, you just learned that in your situation you have recourse to return the item for a refund.

Your seller's 'no return' policy refers ONLY for 'buyer's remorse' reasons. You are entitled to a full return upon return of the item (at seller's expense) ... so leaving negative feedback was very premature. The seller had no way of knowing that a New/sealed item was defective.
[BTW, I didn't see another negative or neutral feedback the seller received for the last 1000 feedbacks ... which is all I looked at. Their profile is outstanding.]
Here is what you do whenever you receive an item that is 'not as described' in some way ... regardless of the seller's return policy:
I recommend that you request a refund, rather than a replacement ... because it is so unusual to get corroded batteries with a new item.
AFTER you are made 'whole', ask the seller to send you a Feedback Revision Request so that you can change the feedback. [BTW, you've left so many bad feedbacks lately ... 4 out of 5 ... that you will hurt yourself with future sellers if you keep doing that. They check this feedback when buyers make offers.]
Send the seller this link in case they don't know how to send you the FRR:
