Special offer from seller
If a seller makes an offer to a buyer valid for 48 hours does ebay policy allow them to rescind the initial offer before the 48 hours is over?

Mentor2 years ago@rebm_40. The seller can't just rescind the offer. They are allowed to sell to other buyers that the offer went out to. Also if the seller ends the listing it cancels all outstanding offers, this is allowed.

OP2 years agoThanks. The offer disappeared before the termination date, the seller said ebay did it and they would honor the offer, I made the offer before it expired, and I have heard nothing from the seller.
I don’t understand how this is supposed to work.

Mentor2 years ago@rebm_40 If the item is still active and hasn't been ended and relisted then there's no way for a seller to cancel an offer. eBay doesn't cancel offers before the time is up unless there's a glitch.
Since the seller is not responding to you the only thing you can do is move on to another seller that wants your money.

OP2 years agoAnd leave a bad review.
But I don’t think I will be coming back to ebay after this.

Mentor2 years ago@rebm_40 You can not leave feedback if there is no purchase.
I wouldn't let one bad apple ruin your chance of finding deals on eBay, but that is of course your choice.

OP2 years agoIt isn’t just one bad apple. Ebay pulled the offer well before the promised expiration.
i will look for other sites; can’t trust ebay anymore.
