Spam emails from Ebay?
Received an email from Ebay to look again at an item I have never viewed before. Concerned about my data at ebay I contacted Ebay on chat and a representative from India thought the situation was funny and wanted to talk about other items I have vieved before. So is Ebay hacked? Is the email just an error by Ebay software? Is my personal data at risk using Ebay? Anyone else experience this? I understand the poor customer service chat, it's always hit or miss with India personnel, if it was really even Ebay I was chatting with. Do I need to turn off all notifications or possibly close out my account just to keep my data safe?

OP3 years agoI received an email from Ebay that stated this is a new attempt to get people interested in other items. I personally am not interested in wasting time with items I have no interest in. I have noticed this type of activity from online sales companies is trending.

It's probably a glitch in the system, or they tried to fix something.

Sounds like a problem with the routine that matches listings to emails rather than a security issue.
