Someone is using my email in their eBay account
Hello,
My mother does not have an account with eBay but she keeps receiving eBay order confirmations on her email "yankarod" at Gmail.
All the order confirmations, delivery confirmations are from Bryan B
This has been happening since 10th of November 2022 and it hasn't stopped since. For some reason these emails go through her Gmail spam protection. Is it possible you check whether my mother's email is associated with Bryan's account and if you could remove it or contact Bryan to do so? Thank you so much in advance.

·3 years agoDo you have actual access to your mother's email account? If so, you could contact customer support and they could send a message to that email, which you could confirm.
This is a security problem for the owner of the account who mistyped their own email when setting up the account, and eBay should be quite concerned about security. You mother could technically take over that account, but I assume neither of you want that.
Next time you are with your mother, or otherwise have access to that email, contact customer support. Scroll to the bottom of this page, click the "Contact us" button and type "agent" into the chat box. eBay will show the option to request a callback. Be sure your photo does not have call-blocking enabled.

Explain that your mother has full access to that other account, and to all the personal data sent through messages, because the seller used your mother's email address.

OP3 years agoHi, thank you for your answer. As I said my mother does not have an account on eBay at all. When I try to log in using her email address no such user is found. So I cannot log in. She never created an account. So I cannot contact an agent from her account. I do not see a contact option at all at the bottom of this page. My mother cannot take over Bryan's account because she doesn't have one. Should i create one from my mother's name and then try to talk to customer support?

·3 years agoTo log in with that email address, you would need the password. You could request a password reset to lock out the owner of the account, but it is also possible the owner set up the reset to go to a mobile number because the email was not working for them.
This is the help page with the "contact us" link at the bottom. Be sure to type "agent" into the chat box:

I would just go ahead and contact support from your own account at a time when you have access to your mother's email. You don't have to say the email belongs to your mother, as long as you have access to it while talking to support, and can acknowledge receipt of a message if they send one to it. Support should be able to work with the seller to get a proper email attached to the seller's account.
