Someone else using my email address for their account
Summary: sh24557 reported an issue where someone named 'Bruce' is using their email address for an eBay account without their control. Someone named "Bruce" has an eBay account that uses my email address. (Obviously not the email address connected with my eBay account, it's a different email that I use to sign up for other things.) I get emails regularly to Bruce that reference his activity. I can't close the account myself because while it uses my email address, I don't have the password, and two-factor authentication codes are sent to Bruce's phone.
I have tried contacting eBay support multiple times, and nothing has happened. I keep getting these emails for Bruce. It's crazy that someone could open an eBay account using an email address they don't control. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Mentor2 weeks agoYes, it is hard to believe Bruce could use your email address without access to it to confirm it during the sign up procedure.
Since you have access to that email address I would first change the access password to it.
