Some "sold" items not showing in the "show only sold" category

I'm noticed lately on listings for a Taylormade QI4D driver head only that recent sales (ones that sold for the least amount) aren't showing up in the "sold" listing, while others that sold for more are. Is Ebay artificially trying to hold the visible sold sales high, so that when a potential seller looks to see what a particular item might sell for, he may be induced to sell for a higher price? I know for a fact, that there are at least 2 sales (one to me) that sold for less than others recently that are not showing up even three days after the sale.

In eBay Seller Hub, if you use the Research >> Product research tool, you'll get more accurate results. Sort by Date last sold.
You can choose your settings.
I have never had confidence in using eBay's frontend search, filtered to Sold Items. Even though eBay’s backend code treats "Sold" (green prices) and "Completed" (both green and black prices) as separate filters, the front-end search engine is notorious for bleeding them together.
Others definitely will refute me on this and they swear upon searching Sold Items from regular search. I follow eBay's advice and do all mine using the Research tool, made for seller research.
Try the Research tool and compare. Let me know what you think. Hope that helps!
You do need more exact search terms for Research to be useful. Model #'s are great. It searches item specifics too, not just titles.
