Ask the buyer for photos of the watch,the packing material, and the box. Ask them to hold on to all items until your insurance claim is settled.
The buyer doesn't wait for an insurance payout if any. You need to refund the buyer in full for the item price and shipping.
You file the insurance claim on the USPS site. They will not pay a claim though if the packing was not adequate to protect the watch.
