sold new train set on eBay that I insured. Customer received 16 Dec 25. Notified damages 15 Jan 26
I sold a new and unused train set on eBay that I insured. The customer received it on 16 December 2025 and didn't report damaged until 15 January 2026. The insurance requires USPS post office verification of the damage. I asked him to go to the post office and he said he would on 16 January 2026. the buyer hasn't responded to several messages including a request to keep the packaging. I need to delay the return request suspense from tomorrow 20 January 2026 until I or eBay receives buyer's post office verification of the damage. The sturdiness of the Rivarossi Engines and cars casts doubt on the cause of damage to this engine. The foam inner inner box, cardboard protection, foam wrap offer protection to a degree that I haven't had a request of this nature in more than 500 sales.

·8 months agoIf you don’t resolve this by that date, eBay will refund the buyer (from YOUR funds) and allow the buyer to keep the item. Plus you’ll get a defect against your account. I wouldn’t keep trying to resolve anything about the shipping. The carriers deny most claims anyway, saying that the items weren’t sufficiently packaged.
