Sold new baby clothes - can I take them off hangers before shipping?
Hi! I'm a new seller and I didn't forsee this being a possible issue until now - when I'm trying to pack them to ship.
They're 2 packs of baby onesies that I forgot I had until my kid was too big for them. They're brand new, with tags and still on the hangers they come with. When I listed them, I left them on the hangers with the tags on - to show they're brand new.
Now that I'm trying to ship them, I realized the hangers add extra weight and make them too big to ship in my envelopes. I tried messaging the buyer to ask if it's alright if I send the clothes without the hangers and I still haven't heard back. I want to get them shipped as soon as possible and I don't want to get a bad review if the buyer was hoping to get them with the hangers still included. Not sure if it's important at all, but you never know - the minute I make an assumption - that's when I end up being wrong.
So I guess I'm just looking for advice - has anyone been in a situation like this? For anyone who has been selling for a while, or specifically sells new baby clothes. What would you do?

Mentor3 years agoMessage your buyer and ask if she needs the hangers. Be honest and explain that you had not thought about shipping the hangers, and that they don’t really fit in the package you were expecting to use.
I don’t think the hangers will add much weight, so if your buyer really wants them, I would find a larger envelope to use. They may have been purchased as a gift. Maybe offer to wrap them nicely in tissue paper, if that would work instead.
